This piece stems from the idea that clouds are a form of protection.

شهيد‎ Shaheed ‎meaning “martyr” is written in mirrors (a traditional embellishment) with the intention of having the sky and viewers catch their reflection in the piece .

The fabric is a traditional block printed piece called ajrak, this specific pattern is “badal” meaning "cloud”
